Helping Women Safely Detox from Drugs & Alcohol in Orange County.
The disease of addiction is many times a replacement for coping skills. While it may seem like a great coping mechanism to them personally, continuous abuse of substances or just one wrong time can cause lifetime trouble and trauma.
While treatment may seem like the easiest way to living a better life, the latter is easier said than done. When a person is addicted to something, they may have a hard time overcoming their addiction or simply going cold turkey. Treatment in a controlled environment like Newport Beach Recovery Center provides support from professionals that are not easily accessible to individuals that suffer from an addiction.
Treatment also allows the person to experience others who are in the same position as them. Everyone does not grow up living the same life, the same hardships/positive influences, or even the same day-to-day life. This is why treatment for those that need an extra boost is worth it in the short-term and the long-term, and the first step in treatment is detoxification.

Do I Really Need Detox? What are the Risks of Withdrawal?
If you have been abusing substance and are wondering if you need detox, typically the answer is yes. Detox is more than just a cleanser of the body from the drugs and/or alcohol that our patients have used, it is a cleanser of the mind as well. Our detox program focuses on helping our patients realize the value of their own lives. We want the women that enter our detox program to understand that we believe in them and to believe in themselves without having to use drugs/alcohol as a crutch.
A frequently asked question that patients (and loved ones of patients) ask us is “What are the risks of withdrawal?” Some risks from withdrawal can be physical (i.e. becoming sick, fatigued, and feeling a little weak) and/or mentally (i.e. depression, anxiety, and possible suicidal thoughts). Our team work day in and day out to prevent the negative risks from our patients during their withdrawal stage.

What are the Benefits of an Inpatient Detox Program?
There are many variations of what a detox program from drugs & alcohol is depending upon the person’s specific needs. Here at Newport Beach Recovery Center, we offer women a residential inpatient detox program that allows them to safely quit drugs & alcohol.
The main goal of a detox program is to assist each client with the withdrawal symptoms that they may experience when they suddenly stop using their drug of choice. The detoxification process typically lasts anywhere from 4-7 days, although each person is unique so lengths can vary. The withdrawal symptoms for certain substances can create a dangerous situation without proper medical care, which is why detoxing at home, cold-turkey is rarely suggested.
During the detox period, clients can experience the discomforts of withdrawal in a safe setting surrounded by medical staff 24/7. This provides the foundation for the rest of the treatment process, which continues after detoxification is completed. By detoxing in a residential setting, you can manage and cravings without succumbing to relapse.

What to Expect at Our Women’s Detox Program in Orange County?
As a patient, there are a few amazing things that you can expect at our women’s detox program. We provide individualized treatment as we know everyone does not have the same situations, which makes the support feel more unique than just copied. We are a female only treatment center, and this type of environment helps empower women together and even make new friends. We are located near the ocean, which provides a beautiful and relaxing surrounding for the detox process.
We do provide medications to our patients based upon what is needed. The latter is available throughout the detox process in addition to an early sobriety support system as well. Another great benefit that we offer residential inpatient, meaning a seamless transition from detox to rehab. Whether a patient wants/needs extra aftercare, or help to sober living (i.e. living in a sober house), we do our best to make the transition as smooth as possible for women.
